HSN/QVC Cust Serv – GREAT… UNTIL TONITE (this morning =) 6/14-12:56am CSR Team Member “Amelia”). DO realize, after 25+ yrs & TENS OF THOUSAND$ $PENT w/HSN, C/S now ENDS 1:00am… DID reach BEFORE 1:00am AND DID NOT DESERVE TO BE HUNG UP ON! I was reaching out for HELP w/an HSN ERROR AND RELIANT UPON “Amelia’s” HELP-so WHY be rude/problematic WHEN “Amelia” WAS THE PERSON WHO “COULD” HELP? Makes no sense to be such, right? Well I wasn’t such AND “Amelia” STILL HUNG UP ON ME! I “believe” b/c couldn’t or didn’t know how to help and maybe was insulted (?) when I requested to speak w/a Supervisor…? Whom of course by this time, there was no Supervisor TO speak with b/c they’d already left… even though there were calls initiated BEFORE 1:00am w/some unresolved issues ONLY a Supervisor CAN resolve.
Suggestion: if a CSR Team Member is on a call received BEFORE 1am, maybe a Supervisor SHOULD BE AVAILABLE UNTIL ALL CALLS ARE FINISHED-RESOLVED-ENDED …Because maybe CUSTOMER NEEDING RESOLVE has a prior commitment or job at 8am (when a Supervisor becomes next available) AND THE “ISSUE” ITEM HAS 1-2 left and may SELL-OUT! IDK, doesn’t sound that unreasonable to me…

RE: Ordered NEW item-received IRREGULAR (one leg inch+ longer than other)-called & initiated a return/even exchange-tracking reads delivered-Item NOT RECEIVED. NO TRACKING INFO ON MY END AVAILABLE. ONLY ITEM WITHOUT THIS INFO in ALL order statuses! And, REFUND was ISSUED for item- WHY? ESPEC when Sz/color STILL AVAIL now – tomorrow… maybe not. PAST PROTOCOL was always to start a tracking/postal investigation when item was reading delivered yet not received, was it not? (was always my experience anyway) Think about it… I (anyone) could receive an item then “claim” not to have received, and get a refund- DOESN’T MAKE SENSE.

Now I’m INCONVENIENCED and all “Amelia” had to do was re-send or re-order item, as to assure no sell out of size/color (and she had confirmation my return was initiated/on the way via tracking info) BUT… do AT SAME PRICE ORIGINALLY PAID (item now $15 MORE). Not only did “Amelia” say she cannot do this, but BECAUSE SHE REFUNDED ITEM, said I would NOW have to order and PAY NEW PRICE. I **NEVER** ASKED FOR A REFUND-I WANT THE ITEM ORDERED AT THE SAME PRICE! WASN’T EVEN REFUNDED ORIG S/H either! It’s very DIFFICULT TO BELIEVE THE ITEM WAS EVEN SENT IN THE FIRST PLACE!! WHY NO tracking Info provided – WHY NO POSTAL investigation? AND, my original return was confirmed – “return initiated” – and on the way via postal tracking info! So easy for HSN-NOT SO MUCH FOR ME, THE PAYING CUSTOMER…

Stopped shopping HSN for OVER a year+ b/c of MANY ORDER ISSUES & started shopping again when became “Qurate” hoping to start anew. $PENDING A LOT OF $$$$ w/HSN LATELY (QVC TOO) AND DESERVE BETTER – WE ALL DO. NOT trying to be problematic or a complainer, but this wasn’t right -ESPEC BEING HUNG UP ON! NO excuse’s – was deliberate – it’s the WHY I find intriguing. Even RETURNED $160.+ of “QVC” merchandise SENT by HSN… I AM HONEST – NOT looking to pull a fast one on HSN – and PAY ON TIME MONTHLY. MANY other sites/B&M places to $PEND, BUT REALLY enJOY SHOPPING HSN (QVC too) ALWAYS HAVE… BUT IF HAVE CONTINUOUS ISSUES, it’s not what I want, but I WILL STOP SHOPPING AGAIN. If HSN (QVC-Qurate) no longer desires my patronage, just say so… I will pay-off ALL flex pays, cancel auto-ship items and we’ll be done. No attitude- No hard feelings…

Oh, just curious… why can’t I post in the Community? Was posting fine a few months ago…
Sorry reader’s. This was “for me” to clear my angst until 8am… lol. ALWAYS My Best To All ❤️🤗

NATIONAL EYEWEAR DAY

June 6 is National Eyewear Day on the National Day Calendar and we clearly see the importance of bringing awareness to eye health and comprehensive eye exams. Join us as we share why taking care of your eyes is important to you health.

Spectacles have been around for about seven centuries, but early versions were only worn by monks and scholars. In fact, the first pair of eyeglasses consisted of two magnifying glasses that were set into bone with a hinge on the nose.

These first glasses were invented in Northern Italy around the late 13th century where eyeglasses were monks who used the spectacles to copy religious manuscripts. They wore them to read as well. Unfortunately, monks and other scholars who wore these eyeglasses had a hard time keeping them on their face.

In 1452, the invention of the printing press caused the demand for eyeglasses to soar. Many manufacturers came up with ways to make them more wearable. However, it wasn’t until 1730 that an optician from London added rods to the frames so that they could rest on the ears. About 22 years later, hinges were added to the rods. Through the years, there have been many eyeglass innovations.

5 Eyewear Innovations
Bifocals were invented in the 1760s. These eyeglasses made it possible to see objects both close up and far away.
Monocles were developed in the late 18th century and were worn around the neck. Interestingly, monocles were mainly worn by aristocrats.
Pince-nez were invented in the late 19th century. These eyeglasses were held in place by a spring-clip between the lenses instead of frames.
Sunglasses are a kind of dark eyeglasses that became popular in America around 1929. Eventually, sunglasses became an essential fashion item still in use today.
Ray-Ban are also knowns as “Aviators.” First developed for pilots in the 1930s, Ray-Ban eyeglasses were are now especially popular with celebrities.
In addition, plastic would change eyewear forever. Since the 1940s, plastic has made it possible to develop frames in a wide range of colors and styles. Some of the most popular eyeglass styles made from plastic have included cat-eye, round-rimmed, and oversized frames.

3 Reasons National Eyewear Day Matters
National Eyewear Day is a reminder for everyone to take good care of their eyes. Here are 3 reasons National Eyewear Day is important:

The day reminds everyone to get yearly comprehensive routine eye exam.
Today is a good day to remind us to keep our prescriptions updated to prevent serious eye problems.
National Eyewear day is also a reminder to protect our eyes from harmful UV rays with a pair of sunglasses.
Today, eyewear continues to not only improve our vision, plus adds elements of style and personality. Imagine John Lennon without his iconic round frames. Would Maverick be Top Gun without his aviators? No one would recognize Harry Caray without his trademark face-covering frames. Can you imagine seeing a picture of Teddy Roosevelt without his frameless glasses?

Eyewear defines, outlines, and punctuates a personality, too. Eyewear can be a little covert. For example, who is Clark Kent without his frames? Though many may have tried, no one wore the dark tortoise shells better than Audrey Hepburn.

3 Fun Fact About Eyewear
About 64% of the adult population wears prescription eyewear.
61% of people who need eyewear are nearsighted and 31 percent are farsighted.
Over 12 million Americans need vision correction, but don’t have any eyewear.
Clearly, eyewear plays a significant role in our lives. From improving vision and protection to providing a variety of style options, it certainly is something to celebrate on National Eyewear Day.

NATIONAL OLIVE DAY

National Olive Day falls on June 1st on the National Day Calendar to celebrate one of the world’s oldest fruits. The olive is part of a traditional meze/tapas culinary experience that brings families and friends around the table.

Olives are a symbol of peace, hope, love and friendship and National Olive Day is an excellent reason to celebrate the day. We are extending an olive branch to invite you in our celebration to recognize the joy this little fruit provides.

Around the world, approximately 500 different varieties of olives are cultivated. Their flavors range from sweet to bitter and come in a range of colors and sizes. Olives are used in many ways. We find them in co*cktails and loaves of bread. We eat them whole as snacks. We use them as toppings and include them on relish trays or as a garnish for many foods. They are one of the most versatile foods we eat and delicious, too!

HSN-AND-QVC … “WERE” doing so well (for me) … until RECENTLY! Items are ADVERTISED “WITH” flexpays… TODAY reads 5 flexpays on EVERYTHING (w/exceptions-ok, after 25+ years most longtime shoppers know these), BUT some items WHICH DO NOT fall under “exceptions”- NOT getting the **ADVERTISED** 5pays. Ok WHATEVER, really no big deal. What IS NOT RIGHT though… CANCELLATIONS (by HSN) WITH NO REASON GIVEN!! (Would that be acceptable w/my payments, hmmm?)? ESPECIALLY when EXACT ITEM/COLOR/SIZE was AVAILABLE for A WEEK AFTER PURCHASING. Speak w/CS Reps… NO HELP WHATSOEVER (and SNIDE too). Customer Service has been AWESOME (for me) LAST FEW MONTHS!! ‘TIL NOW-WHY??? What changed? In RECENT past, when an item was canceled by HSN there was a complimentary $5 compensation (not the point here-just saying). That’s APPRECIATION given a LOYAL $$$$ SPENDER!

Don’t even get me started w/QVC!!!!!!!! While their Cust Serv “WAS” also GREAT, it too has CHANGED! In last 2 months-(3) THREE… items sent had CORRECT INFO on outer plastic packaging BUT INCORRECT ITEMS INSIDE THE PLASTIC BAGS! One wasn’t even the same vendor!!! These are NOT the only issues recently either. Sent wrong items-told KEEP/DONATE (still charged $$ though). Getting credit $$ on returns-HA! MUST CALL TO RECEIVE THEM!! AND I $PEND A LOT – NO MORE! It’s one thing when SHOWN RESPECT, it’s another when TOTALLY DISRESPECTED. I can spend my HARD EARNED $$$ anywhere and “CHOOSE” to $pend with HSN/QVC… WILL SERIOUSLY CONSIDER $SPENDING IN THE FUTURE! It’s NOT right to be BLATANTLY DISREGARDED: wrong items shipped; wrong sizes shipped; playing games w/flexpays and NOW POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE-NO THANK YOU! Shopping HSN/WVC was going so well, What happened???? Regardless, I “DESERVE” BETTER… If continues-I AM DONE-PERMANENTLY!! Much to my dismay too, LOVE HSN! MISS THE DAYS OF YESTERYEAR…

hsn_regina…………again as has happened countless times before – one day – 24 hours later – the leggings are now listed as being available in my size and color – always when either the price has increased and/or free shipping has ended – it feels like one big game! Since I have waited 2 months for these leggings why is it not possible for HSN to follow up and offer to fulfill my order?

@taci,

WHAT!!!! Brentwood has changed? I need to talk to my niece to see how bad it is.
Taci California or New York City were always where I wanted to live. 💕🎈Looks like
that dream has drifted away. I just want a quiet little cottage near the Ocean.
Just my luck I run into JAWS. Yikes!

Our pollen count is very high here but the weather people never mentions Canada.
I will have to look that up or watch the National Weather Channel.

I love the little area I live in the walking is perfect we are getting our fair share of critters
of all sizes so I have to make sure there is daylight or pack something. 😎 I don’t want to
hurt any critter just enough to scare them off.

Taci enjoy your evening my head is hurting from all the pollen.

When Sonya is modeling, she is a shining star for sure. Clothes always look great on her and my husband totally agrees! However, I think it’s a good thing that women of all shapes and sizes are modeling now. It helps average people who are not tall (like me) to get a more realistic idea of how something will fit. I’m sure I saw her on air a few days ago.

Being untruthful about sizing

  • Susanne31

Absolutely feel hosts are not honest about size. If certain hosts are actually squeezing into size small or extra small then the entire sizing system is way off. Small and extra small are for very skinny people – let’s be real. Makes it very hard for me to judge what to trust and what size I should really buy in a particular item. ( although lately does seem that everyone is using weight loss medicine)

@shoelady60,

Lady you are right about an Ark. 😎We will rain all week and we had a good amount last
week. I keep checking the sump pump and I always look up for falling trees.

Lady when I walk Poppy he is a fast moving dog and so am I. LOL! 😎😘

I don’t let weather affect us too much we just dress the part. The one thing I have learned
is not to mess with ICE. The fall I had was knocker I can dance, skate and balance myself
very well. I was looking for my neighbor’s paper and I was not paying attention around me.
I was watching Poppy as we started out of the driveway and the next thing I knew I hit my
head on hard concrete and Ice. My son was here at the time and did not hear me. I was
able to get up and walk so that was a good sign but son made me call my private doctor
and they told me what to do and what to look out for. Honest the Bump was the size of
a Goose Egg in the very back it took a minute to go down and I was home free I even seen
a doctor since then. I think falling for anyone is no joke. I carry my cell phone in my pocket
as I wear leggings with pockets so I can handle Poppy’s leash. God was looking out for me
that day a lot of people went to the Hospital that day it was really bad.

NATIONAL SHRIMP DAY

Each year on May 10th, National Shrimp Day recognizes America’s favorite seafood. Americans eat moreshrimp than any other seafood, and this is the day to celebrate this delicious seafood.

We use the word “prawn” loosely to describe any large shrimp, sometimes known as “jumbo shrimp.” Some countries use the word “prawn” exclusively for all shrimp.

Preparing the shrimp for consumption usually involves removing the head, shell, tail, and “sand vein.” There are many ways to cook shrimp. Standard methods of preparation include baking, boiling, broiling, sauteing, frying, and grilling. Cooking time is delicate for shrimp, and they are at their best when not overcooked.

Ahealthy food, shrimp, is low in calories and high in omega-3, calcium, iodine, and protein levels. Shrimp is also known to be considered good for the circulatory system.

Popular North America Shrimp Dishes:
Seafood Gumbo: A stew or soup that probably originated in southern Louisiana during the 18th century. Seafood gumbo typically consists of a strongly-flavored stock, shrimp and crab meat (sometimes oysters), a thickener, and seasoning vegetables. Cooks categorize Gumbo by the type of thickener used: okra, the Choctaw spice, file powder (dried and ground sassafras leaves), or roux, the French base made of flour and fat.
Shrimp co*cktail: The Golden Gate served shrimp co*cktails before any other restaurant. Their menu listed shrimp co*cktails for .50 cents in 1959. It is now a Las Vegas cliché. Called the “Original Shrimp co*cktail” on the menu, it is a favorite among tourists and the locals. The original Shrimp co*cktail consists of a regular-sized sundae glass filled with small salad shrimp and topped with a dollop of co*cktail sauce.
Shrimp DeJonghe: A specialty of Chicago, it is a casserole of the whole, peeled shrimp blanketed in soft, garlic, sherry-laced bread crumbs. Restaurants often serve it as an appetizer or a main course. It originated in the late 19th or early 20th century at the DeJonghe’s Hotel and Restaurant.

Shrimp Scampi: This dish has its own day onApril 29,and it is cooked in butter, garlic, lemon juice, and white wine.

Shrimp and other shellfish are among the most common food allergens.

What gets me is when the show hosts act like they’re devastated when an item sells out. Isn’t that the point?
I have to agree when it comes to Amy. Maybe the plastic surgery has affected her personality. She never shuts up and is constantly gazing into the camera at herself while telling everyone over and over what a small size she is wearing. Vanity has a grip on her for sure.
Yes, mute buttons can be a Godsend when watching HSN.
As far as Nicole goes, I don’t catch her shows that often. She was on this morning and looked quite glamorous with her hair up.
Yes, I do enjoy Callie’s shows. She is likeable and not overbearing. On cooking shows she is always willing to taste the food that is being made like a normal person would. Certain hosts (and we all know who they are) take the tiniest bites for fear of gaining weight.
I’m looking forward to watching Debbie D’s show with Katy Perry in a few days. That should be fun to watch.

NATIONAL TOTALLY CHIPOTLE DAY

Each year on May 5th, National Totally Chipotle Day celebrates right alongside Cinco de Mayo and is dedicated to the chipotle, a smoked, dried jalapeno pepper.

There are different varieties of jalapenos and they vary in size and heat. At one time, chipotles were primarily found in the markets of central and southern Mexico. As Mexican foods became more popular in the more northern areas of North America, the jalapeno production and processing expanded north into the United States.

Chipotles are often an essential ingredient and add a mild spiciness to many different dishes in Mexican cuisine. While you expect to find them in salsas and other sauces, don’t hesitate to use them in other ways, too. Add them to soups and marinades if you want to bring the heat to a dish. Bean or lentil dishes shine when you add chipotle to them. Do you like sweet and spicy flair? Add chipotle to your jellies. When pairing chipotle with a slice of smoky cheese, you won’t be disappointed. Top it on a grilled bbq chicken pizza to wow guests.

You can even add it to desserts for a surprising but delicious twist. For example, homemade dark chocolate ice cream with the hint of smoky chipotle in every bit is a real winner. You can turn down the heat by removing the seeds and membrane or leave them in for a more exciting experience.

NATIONAL KIDS AND PETS DAY

National Kids and Pets Day on April 26th raises awareness of the importance of picking the right pet for children at the right time. It’s an important decision that can lead to a lifetime of bonding between pet and child.

The day also celebrates the bonds children and pets can share and a day to remember safety where our pets and children are concerned. There are many benefits of having a pet in a child’s life. From fostering natural nurturing abilities to developing responsibilities, pets have a lifelong impact on a child’s development.

It is also important to remember that small children as well as the pets may not know their limitations and should not be left alone with each other. They should always be supervised to prevent injury to both the child and the animal.

Even though dogs and cats are some of the most beloved pets in the United States, pet homelessness is a huge problem in the country. There are about 70 million stray animals in the United States. Up to 8 million of these animals end up in shelters. There are 3,500 animal shelters in the country. It’s at these animal shelters that pets receive a second chance. According to the ASPCA, over 3 million shelter animals are adopted each year.

No matter the breed, size, or demeanor of the human, or, canine, the shelter will take the time to find the right home for their animals. They schedule visits and have procedures in place to promote healthy adoptions for families and individuals. While some dogs have experienced injury or illness, the shelters work with veterinarians to heal the animals before making them available for adoption.

@sheba2011

I was home yesterday and today and did not see hubby. After shopping yesterday, I ventured into the den to look at the lake. In so doing I noticed one of our roof areas was hanging by a nail. Rather than contact the roofers who initially repaired our roof, decided on someone new to us. This business comes well recommended and has over 30 years experience. I tried to reach this group when we lost our lanai and an area in our den became a skylight. This group had a waiting period and I chose to find someone else. Long story short, they had an email and I sent a note stating our problem. I hope to hear something by tomorrow. Guess the story when it rains it pours. The new homes being built in Florida today will be able to withstand hurricane strength winds up to 200 mph. Of course, nothing really can withstand the winds of a tornado., unless, maybe, concrete.

Hopefully, I will be able to be with hubby most of the afternoon tomorrow. I have some real good food items for him and they are all low in calories. I have a parfait of fruit mixed in with yogurt, fresh fruit bowl which is soft. I also picked up cheesecake which I will cut into a sliver and then add ice cream on top. He has also asked for my winter melon soup. I thought I would make some tomorrow, but, alas, I forgot to purchase the winter melon. That I will do on Tuesday before getting the van. There is something actually called winter melon. It is in the squash family and has no real taste.. You can purchase this in any Asian market. I found that honeydew works better and actually adds a sweet taste to the soup. Also, our Asian markets are able to cut the pork ribs into bite size pieces. Unfortunately, I will need to do that part myself. I remembered the carrots, bok choy, and dragon fruit. By the way, I use the whole stalks of t he bok choy. That includes the leafy part. Nothing goes to waste. I usually cut two or three stalks of the bok choy into bite size pieces and I do the same for the lettuce part of the stalk. When I was a youngster (that was yesterday) I asked the owner of an Asian restaurant what the green part was in the wonton soups. I thought it was a spinach leaf, but when he mentioned what it was, I’ve been using it ever since. The one thing Asians do is use the whole veggie and that includes the tops and the roots. And for people who do not use pork, chicken, fish, or beef can be substituted. I use a chicken broth as a base. Hubby also asked for homemade spaghetti with meatballs. I will be trying to get him out and about this week. If it succeeds, I will be doing this a few times during the week. Someday he will get a surprise when i bring him home permanently. First, though, he needs to take off a few pounds so that the therapy can resume again. I am also thinking that the YMCA may be able to help as well and I will be contacting them about therapy in their pool. I think they may be equipped to take a person from wheelchair to pool using a sling. I just have a feeling that this may help with his mobility.

The weather here has been in the low to mid 80s during the day and in the 60s at night. We are expecting some thunderstorms tomorrow and as yet have no idea if any will be serious. I know there will be wind which means sinuses will be at the forefront. My headache was awful today and that is the result of a low forming. Also the main reason for not venturing out. Hope you had a beautiful Sunday. I would take a look at the weather for the next ten days before planting. Have a great walk with the moon and Poppy. Stay safe.
