Coming in as an All-Rounder, this physical attacker proves to be extremely versatile in the way you want to play them, shifting drastically depending on which style you choose to play as. Below you can find everything you need to know to master Pokemon Unite's latest addition, including stats and recommended play styles for both of Urshifu's forms.
When To Pick Urshifu
Similar to Scyther and Scizor,Urshifu has two different styles depending on which move you choose when you reach level five:
- Rapid Strike Style Urshifu, which functions more as a brawler, possessing moves that excel in larger, prolonged team fights.
- Single Strike Style Urshifu, which works more as an assassin, wielding attacks that due significantly high burst damage, allowing you to quickly stun and knock out enemies, regardless of their HP.
On top of having variety when it comes to its play style, Urshifu proves to be extremely versatile when it comes to where they are playing in a Pokemon Unite match. This Pokemon plays well when choosing to either play in the top or bottom lanes, especially when opting for the Rapid Strike Style. With this brawler play style, you can easily find success in this area of the map, constantly placing you at the location of large team fights and objectives.
Additionally, Urshifu can find success when choosing to play in the central lane, especially when playing with the Single Strike Style. With the central lane providing you with large amounts of experience, you can easily gain a level advantage over the majority of your opponents, further increasing the massive damage output that this Pokemon has.
Urshifu: Single Strike Build
Urshifu's Single Strike Style mainly plays the role as a powerful assassin. With some of the highest burst damage attacks in Pokemon Unite, use this build to stun, then unleash massive damage on opponents, often resulting in their quick defeat.
To play as this form of Urshifu, make sure to pick the attack Wicked Blow at level five, an attack that allows you to charge up a powerful strike, guaranteeing a critical hit when charged up all the way. After making this choice, you will learn the move Throat Chop at level seven, used to dash at an opponent, leaving them stunned and granting you with an instant boosted attack.
Engage an opponent using Throat Chop, dealing damage and leaving them unable to act for a short time. Taking advantage of this stun effect, follow this by charging up Wicked Blow, dealing tons of damage when powered up all the way and used accurately. When performing this combo successfully, you will be able to knock out most opponents quickly and easily.
For this build, it's recommended that you are using the Attack Weight and Scope Lens Held Items, both used to increase your overall damage and critical hit damage, adding to the lethality of Wicked Blow. Your third Held Item should be one that increases your overall survivability, Focus Band proving to be extremely useful.
For your Battle Item, X-Attack is recommended for this build. Use this prior to engaging with the opponent, providing you with even more damage when using this already deadly attack combo.

Urshifu: Rapid Strike Build
Urshifu's Rapid Strike Style provides you with abilities and attacks that are well suited for the brawler play style. Use this build to dominate in large team fights, especially during important match objectives.
To use the Urshifu's Rapid Strike Style, select the move Surging Strikes at level five, a dash attack that can be used three times — the third dash is guaranteed to deal critical hit damage and throw the opponent. Additionally, using this move will provide you with an instant boosted attack, restoring Urshifu's HP if landed on an enemy.
Pair this move with Liquidation, an attack the deals damage in an area of effect. This move not only deals damage, but also lowers the opponent's Defense stats and grants you a shield when it is successfully used against an opponent. Use this move combination to rapidly deal damage to various enemies in battle, while also maintaining your HP through the use of Shields and health regeneration.
To pair with this brawler play style, the use of the Muscle Band and Weakness Policy Held Items are recommended, increasing your overall effectiveness in longer team fights where you are constantly brawling with the enemy team. Again, Focus Band proves to be useful for Urshifu, in this case, adding to your overall survivability.
For your Battle Item, Full Heal works well with Urshifu's Rapid Strike Style. Using this Battle Item will make sure that your combos are not stopped short by enemy stuns and hindrances.
